Tamiya TC-01 Build Formula E GEN2 Time Lapse
This is a time lapse build of Tamiya's new TC-01 chassis and their first Formula E body (Kit 58681). In this video, I record my build up to preparing the polycarbonate body prior to painting. In the next episode, I'll have the body painted and do a test run. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe!

Parts I used:
Motor: Tamiya 10.5T Brushless TBLM-02S
ESC: Tamiya TBLE-03S (w/ fan)
Servo: MKS X5 HBL550LX (low profile)
Receiver: KO Propo KR-241FH
Battery: NiMH
Custom LED tail light
HPI Wheels (for testing only)
Notes:
It's a handsome low profile 4WD chassis and quite straightforward to build. I found the polycarbonate shell/body more tedious and complex to prepare. Aside from a thicker shell which makes it a little harder to do scoring and snapping, there are 8 body parts that connect to one another. And then, 4 other parts (driver helmet, 2 side mirrors, halo protection system). I wish Tamiya provided a pre-cut body instead, even if they had to raise the kit price.
In addition to all the metal bearings (no plastic), there are 6 metal bushings used in the steering linkage:
four Tamiya 850 (5 x 8 x 2.5)
two Tamiya 630 (3 x 6 x 2.5)
Rubber cement is recommended for some nuts and blue thread locking fluid. You'll also need super glue (CA glue/Cyanoacrylate) for the tires/wheels. These are all not included.
The dampers use hard Tamiya #900 silicone oil and the grease is Tamiya Molybdenum Grease. Both included.
Update: test run video is up. Thanks.
