Cadillac CTS Battery Replacement with Computer Relearning and Windows Recalibration - 2008 to 2013

This how-to video guides you through all the steps you need to change, install or replace your Cadillac CTS V6 3.0L or V6 3.6L or V8 car battery, including the CTS-V.

Battery Group Part Number: H6 (search for this code when shopping for a new battery). This is a standard code and is understood by all part stores. All Cadillac CTS (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013) use this battery, the H6.

Tools Required:
10MM wrench or socket
13MM wrench or socket
any sandpaper
di-electric grease (optional)
gloves

Details on how to recalibrate the electronic throttle control \computer to relearn its home position
Details on how to recalibrate power windows (Step 1: Press and hold the power window switch until the window is fully open. Step 2: Pull the power switch up until the window is fully closed, and continue holding up for about three seconds after the window is completely closed). Repeat for all the other windows.
Safety tips (order of connection and disconnection of battery terminals) and a few optional tips, including cleaning and then lubricating the battery terminals with di-electric grease.
Proper venting of the battery.

A battery saver tool can be used. If it is used the power windows won't need to be calibrated, however the computer relearning will likely need to follow the steps shown in the video.

A battery under normal driving conditions will fail typically in years 4 to 6. The battery changed in this video lasted 8 years! The batteries I use are mainly from Costco (Kirkland brand) and have worked well for me.
