Project Description:
In this Project, you will work with an application letter and a resume. To complete the Project, you will create a table, add text to a table, and format tables. You will also insert text from a file, change and reorganize text, use Find and Replace, and use proofing tools.
1 Open the file Student_Word_2G_Letter_and_Resume.docx downloaded with this project.
2 Add the File Name to the footer. Be sure that rulers and formatting marks display. On Page 1, click in the blank paragraph below the letterhead, and then press ENTER two times. Use the Date & Time command to insert the current date using the third format. Press ENTER two times. Type Dr. Vicky Aurelias, Director and press ENTER. Type Capital Cities Community College Career Center and press ENTER. Type One Eisenhower Avenue and press ENTER. Type Alexandria, VA 22314 and press ENTER. Select the first three lines of the inside address (just entered), and then set Spacing After to 0 pt.
3 Click in the blank paragraph below the inside address. Type Dear Dr. Aurelias: and press ENTER. Insert the text from the file w02G_Letter_Text and press BACKSPACE one time to remove the blank line at the bottom of the inserted text.
4 Click at the top of the document to the left of Will or press CTRL+HOME, and then replace all instances of listing with posting
5 In the letter text, in the paragraph that begins In the job announcement, use the Thesaurus pane or the Synonyms command on the shortcut menu to change specific to explicit and credentials to qualifications.
6 In the paragraph that begins I currently live in Arlington select the first sentence of the paragraph and drag it to the end of the same paragraph.

8 Select the table. Apply AutoFit Contents, and then apply the Table Grid Light table style—under Plain Tables, in the first row, the first style. Center the table between the left and right margins. Select the blank paragraph mark below the table and apply Spacing After of 0 pt.
9 Scroll to view the resume on the second page. Insert a new second row in the resume table. Add the following text to the row you just inserted:

Add 12 pt Spacing After to the text you just typed and apply Bold to the word OBJECTIVE.
(Mac users: When inserting a row above in a table, the formatting style of the row below is applied. Deselect bold formatting as necessary.)
10 Select the resume table and apply AutoFit Contents. Remove the table borders, and then from the Borders and Shading dialog box, apply a Custom single solid line 1 1/2 pt top border to the table.
11 In the first row of the resume table, select both cells and then Merge Cells. Center the five lines and apply Bold.
