A Week In Yellowstone National Park

Join us for an unforgettable journey as we spend an entire week exploring the incredible beauty of Yellowstone National Park. In this video, we take you along on our adventure as we camp at the scenic Madison Campground in our Palomino truck camper and set out each day to discover everything the park has to offer. From world-famous landmarks to hidden corners that don’t always make the guidebooks, this week was packed with stunning sights, wildlife encounters, and moments we’ll never forget.
Our adventure begins in West Yellowstone, the bustling gateway to the park, before heading north to Gardiner to visit the historic Roosevelt Arch—an iconic entrance that has welcomed visitors for more than a century. We travel through Mammoth Hot Springs, where terraces of steaming limestone form a landscape unlike anywhere else on earth. From there, we explore Tower Junction and the breathtaking Tower Falls, a stunning 132-foot waterfall surrounded by rugged cliffs.
Moving east, we wander into the wide-open beauty of Lamar Valley, often called “America’s Serengeti,” where bison herds, pronghorn, and maybe even a wolf or bear can be spotted roaming free. Nearby, Mt. Washburn offers sweeping panoramic views that showcase just how massive and diverse Yellowstone really is.
No trip to Yellowstone would be complete without visiting its geothermal wonders. We stop at Norris Geyser Basin, Mud Volcano, and of course, the awe-inspiring Grand Prismatic Spring, with its rainbow of colors steaming against the crisp mountain air. And yes, we catch the legendary Old Faithful Geyser, erupting on cue as it has for generations of travelers.
Our journey continues with stops at Hayden Valley, a prime spot for wildlife watching, and Canyon Village, home to the breathtaking Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, where powerful waterfalls plunge into vividly colored canyon walls. We also make our way down to Lake Yellowstone, a vast and peaceful body of water that feels almost like the ocean at 7,700 feet in elevation.
Throughout the week, we balance visiting the must-see attractions with finding quieter, less crowded areas where we can take in Yellowstone’s beauty in peace. Whether it was sipping morning coffee by the camper, watching the sun set over a valley, or hearing the distant call of wildlife, every day offered something new and unforgettable.
