Subtraction of Mixed Number by Simple Fraction without Regrouping
To subtract simple fractions from mixed number without regrouping:
➢ Find the Least Common Denominator (LCD).
➢ Rename the dissimilar fractions to their equivalent fractions using the LCD.
➢ Subtract the numerators. Then, write the difference over the common denominator.
➢ If the difference is an improper fraction, rename it as a mixed number. Write your difference in lowest term or simplest form if possible.
