Andrew Olle hosts a lively debate on whether Australia should become a republic. For the republic are Malcolm Turnbull, Barry Jones, Lindsay Tanner and Cheryl Kernot, and for the Monarchy are Bronwyn Bishop and Bill O'Chee. I wonder which side the ABC is on?
Hey, before you complain, I'm a flamin' Me-publican down at me local, and I think King Chuckers should be, well, chucked out, but still... What were these panelists thinkin'? With all the patronising disrespect, this is why the republic vote failed. And again with The Voice. Nothing has really been learnt over the years.
If you want people to change, then listen to their concerns and address them. Don't humiliate them or say they are dimwitted. Hawke knew this. Howard knew this. No one since has, though. A lesson in blinkered hubris.
