Tanguito is a low horn showpiece written by hornist Dante Yenque. Being a mostly classical instrument, Tanguito allows a hornist to explore a genre of music that they would rarely play otherwise. The piece features elements of a tango, with a nimble exposition, a slower and heavier transition, and a fast and exciting cadenza-like section. It exclusively features the low register of the horn as the piece is entirely written in bass clef.
Recorded on December 2nd, 2025 at the Recital Hall in the Jerilyn S. McIntyre Music Building.
