It turned out that there isn't quite enough room to put the intended 4 inch dia. tube into the primary drive case to house the alternator, so plan B is to use a thicker walled tube turned down on the outside diameter & bored out to give enough clearance on the inside. This meant that the placement of the tube in the cover needed to be a bit more accurate...
The turntable is on our old Beaver VBRP turret milling machine. Turning of the tube done on our Colchester Triumph 2000. CCGT turning insert used on the outside diameter.
