Take a walk with me as I first walk through the mall to look at the Christmas decorations. After that we'll explore the network of sois (alleys) branching off Happy Land Road, which runs parallel to and just across from The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi on Lat Phrao Road. The area's name dates back to the 1970s when an amusement park called Happy Land operated nearby on Nawamin Road (now Sukha Phiban 1 Road). It opened around 1975 and featured rides and attractions but shut down by 1977, and the site was redeveloped into housing. Today, the soi area embodies that "happy" spirit ironically through its chaotic, vibrant energy rather than theme-park thrills.
