Trump advises 2026 FIFA World Cup ticket holders to ‘apply right away’ for a US visa

FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the 2026 World Cup White House Task Force have joined US President Donald Trump at the White House to make an announcement on the visa process for the event.
“Secretary Rubio’s team at the State Department has worked tirelessly with the Department of Homeland Security to ensure that soccer fans from all around the world are properly vetted and able to come to the United States next summer easily,” President Trump said.
“For those who intend to join us for the World Cup, I strongly encourage you to apply right away.
“I’ve directed my administration to do everything within their power to make the 2026 World Cup an unprecedented success.”
US State Secretary Marco Rubio warned FIFA World Cup ticket holders to apply for a US visa as soon as possible and not to “wait until the last minute” as having a ticket “doesn’t guarantee admission to the US”.
