The lyrics are from an old English poem from the 1800s - To Jean Ingelow by Susan Coolidge. The poem was featured as an introduction to Ingelow’s own Poems of the Old Days and the New, published 1885. My interpretation is the celebration of a woman's voice maturing and singing 'from out your deeper heart'. A song about supporting, listening to and being inspired by other women and the theme of my upcoming album To The Awe, centring women in their own narrative.
