Striped Preemie Hat - Crochet Tutorial

This sweet little hat is easy and quick to make and can be made in any color combination for any baby. Preemies need help staying warm and oftentimes families are unprepared for their arrival, so a handmade crochet hat is the perfect gift idea for a friend or a donation idea for the nicu, but just make sure to use very soft yarn, such as baby yarn or a worsted weight yarn with "soft" in the name. Test it's softness by rubbing it on your cheek. These hats are so small that they don't use much yarn, so it's a great project for getting rid of (soft) scrap yarn, too.

CH = Chain
DC = Half Double Crochet
FPDC = Front Post Double Crochet
RND = Round
SL ST = Slip Stitch

GAUGE
3 DC Stitches = almost 1 inch

NOTES
Beginning CH does NOT count as 1st DC. It's just extra.
