Thanks everyone who has looked into finding the original artist - His name is Fortune Carr (1905 - 1970) a French artist, born in Marseille. Looks like a got a few things wrong! - it's certainly more than just a 'tourist' painting as I suggested and it's more likely the scene is from the South of France weather than Greece.
