In this video we repair a Land Rover Defender 90 axle and convert it to an Ashcroft AATB (Automatic Torque Biasing Differential).
The Ashcroft AATB is a helical-gear, torque biasing differential designed to massively improve traction both on-road and off-road, without the downsides of lockers or harsh driving characteristics.
We strip and repair the axle before we install the unit, it's a popular upgrade for Defenders, and you will see benefits in real-world use — from green lanes and off-road challenges to everyday road driving.
