Popular Routes to take from Tirupati to Reach Tirumala:

There are two main routes to reach Tirumala from Tirupati by road:

Route 1- Tirupati to Tirumala via Alipiri: This is the most popular route and also known as the Alipiri route. The pathway goes up through steep hills in a winding way, that covers a distance of around 11 kilometers. This route is frequently used by pilgrims for the walk to the temple.

Route 2- Tirupati to Tirumala via Chandragiri: This route is a longer but more relaxed drive, covering a distance of around 26 kilometers. It is also known for its beautiful landscape and is an alternative to the Alipiri route. This route is ideal for those who prefer a more leisurely drive or have motion sickness on winding roads.

The timings for climbing the hills in Tirupati, India are as follows:

Alipiri Mettu
The footpath is open from 4 AM to 10 PM daily. Tokens are available throughout the day. 

Srivari Mettu
The footpath is open from 6 AM to 6 PM daily. Tokens are distributed starting at 6 AM. 

Ghat roads
These roads are usually open from 3 AM to 12 AM, but may be open around the clock on special occasions. 

Two-wheelers
These are allowed on ghat roads from 6 AM to 6 PM.
