Sunrise hike vlog | Guilin blew my mind!

In this vlog, we wake up at 4 am to hike up DaMianShan in Guilin (Da Mian Mountain). This mountain is situated in the beautiful town of XingPing, a severely underrated town to stay for tourists in Guilin.

This mountain is called “DaMian Shan” or 大面山 in the local writing, it’s very difficult to find so you would need to stay somewhere near XingPingZhen/XingPing Ancient town to reasonably reach this place for sunrise, it requires a 1 hour uphill hike to get here and an entrance fee of 20 RMB per person, for me, I stayed on the west side of XingPing and rented an electric bike to reach the trailhead entrance, it was about a 30 minute ride there, and bike rental cost me 40 RMB for the day! The exact location on the map is hard to find on the map since it is very out of the way, but I will try my best to show it.

on Apple Maps, the trail end is called “Damian Shan Lijiang Sightseeing Platform”, the trail and parking for vehicles begins at the intersection that leads up to this point on the map (southwest of the point), there will likely be signs and someone there ready to welcome you and collect your entrance fee there 😂 (reminder this pin is for the END of the trail):

On google maps, this place actually does not even show up, but I crosschecked with other maps and this is an accurate pin for the START of the trail, if you are unsure, the hotels you are staying at in XingPingZhen or nearby can offer guidance, this is one of the two most well known mountains in the area for sightseeing at sunrise, but this one was my preference since it was much less crowded compared to the other since it required a short but brutal hike.
