See our homemade bandsaw mill in action! In this sawmill session we are ripping about 125 board feet of ash lumber from some low cost logs. This is not an Alaskan mill and does not feature a chainsaw at all. This design is inspired by a few existing designs, tailored to minimize error from cable stretching and snapping. It adjusts with a system of threaded rods controlled by a gearbox with a hand crank. We use a drill to save time and make larger adjustments. The engine was nearly all of the cost of this machine aside from the time and energy that went into building it. The other parts were recycled, salvaged and custom welded.
Hope you found this neat!
