Gran Turismo 1 - Playthrough Part 15 - IA License (All Gold Medals!)

Gran Turismo 7 might be coming out at the end of the year with the release of the PS5, so I want to try to do a full playthrough of all the previous Gran Turismo games until then. Here you can see me completing the IA license with all 8 gold medals in the simulation mode of Gran Turismo 1.

Gran Turismo has always been one of my favorite racing game franchises and I played the first 3 games of the series when they first came out. After that I moved to PC though, so I never got to play GT 4-6. This year I want to try to revisit GT 1-3 and also play through GT 4-6 for the first time. I am not sure if I will manage to get all of it done but I will see how far I can get.

In this video I am getting the third and final license in the simulation mode of GT1 with the IA license. And once again I am even setting gold medal times in all 8 license tests, which rewards me with the rare Nismo 400R, which is a special version of the Nissan Skyline R33.

In all 8 tests for the IA license you have to do a full lap on a track. The cars that are used are the TVR Griffith and the Dodge Viper, which are two of the most powerful stock cars in the game.

This was the first time that I attempted to get all the gold medals in the IA license, so I wasn't sure how difficult it would be. In the end it was actually pretty manageable for me and I didn't struggle a lot with any particular test. I didn't even have to switch to manual transmission for any of the tests, which I had to do for a couple of the B and A license tests.

I think if you are a good player, then getting full gold in the IA license is probably a bit easier than in the B and A licenses, since you don't have to be as close to perfection here. On the other hand for less skilled players it might be easier in B and A, since it's easier to get a lucky run in a short test than in a long one.

Anyway, this is the first time that I got every single license test gold medal in a classic Gran Turismo game and I am quite happy about this achievement. I will try to do it again when I play GT 2-6 in the future.

In the next video I will start with the IA license events and I will probably use the Nismo 400R for one of them as well. :)
