Quick Tip: How To Install the Magpul MP5 ESK Selector

Brownells Gun Tech™ and resident H&K MP5 expert Keith Ford shows us how to install the Magpul® ESK selector on a Heckler & Koch MP5-pattern roller lock firearm. The Enhanced Safety Kit or "ESK" gives you ambidextrous control over the safety selector WITHOUT having to move your hand off the grip to operate it. You can install your ESK with a full enhanced lever, small lever, or even NO lever at all on the right-hand side. Keith starts by making sure his Zenith Z43P H&K clone is unloaded - visual and pinkie check in the chamber! - then he closes the bolt and removes the rear takedown pin. Off comes the stock, and Keith drops his Z43P's Magpul SL Grip Module (the ESK also fits the factory lower), so he can remove the factory selector and replace it with the ESK. He installs the Magpul levers, the gun goes back together, and a quick function check ensures the ESK selector works correctly. Word of Caution: The ESK will NOT fit ambi-style Navy and FBI MP5 lowers or the H&K SP5, all of which have a different trigger pack and selector.
