WHAT IS SUPPLICATION ACCORDING TO BIBLE - How are prayer and supplication different?

Have you ever wondered why the Bible made a distinction between the words "prayers" and "supplications"? Is there a difference? If so, then what's the difference and why is it important?

For example, Paul said in Philippians 4, "Be careful for nothing; but in everything by "prayer" and "supplication" with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."

Paul also said in Eph 6 "praying always with all prayer AND supplication in the Spirit..."

If you're like me, I like to understand exactly they said and why they said it. What do you mean prayer AND supplications? Are they not the same?
