This is my arrangement of the Black Mage Village theme from Final Fantasy 9. The original track was composed by Nobuo Uematsu. Admittedly, this was one of my lesser favourite tracks from FF9 (which, to be fair, isn't saying much, since there isn't really a song in that game that I don't love deeply!). It was an interesting challenge finding inspiration for this cover. In the end, I thought about ancient pioneers, foreign frontiers, clockwork automatons, natural magic, cuckoo clocks, pine forests and “Victorian” life. I feel that the aesthetic of this arrangement fall somewhere between all those things.
