Bolton HORROR crash driver speeding at 122MPH hours before crash

Video footage showing a driver hitting speeds of more than 120mph while weaving in and out of traffic is forming part of a police investigation into a fatal head on crash in Bolton on Sunday (January 11).

The clip appears to show a car travelling at high-speed down a busy street, with the driver overtaking other cars and veering onto the wrong side of the road. At one point in the clip, the car appears to reach a speed of 122mph.

The M.E.N understands that the video is believed to have been filmed by an occupant of the Seat Leon involved in the fatal crash on Wigan Road. Three teenagers in the Seat died, as well as the driver of a Citroen C4 Picasso taxi.

Today (January 12), the driver of the taxi has been named as 54-year-old Masrob Ali.

A timestamp on the clip, which has been shared extensively on social media, states that it was filmed at 3am, which is understood to be Saturday morning (January 10) - just shy of 24 hours before the fatal crash at 12.50am on Sunday.

Greater Manchester Police are understood to be probing the clip as part of their investigations.
