Asma Shirazi is an award-winning Pakistani journalist and the host of the authoritative talk show Faisla Aap Ka on HUM News, airing Monday to Thursday at 8 PM PST.
In 2014, she was honored with the prestigious Peter Mackler Award for Courage and Ethical Journalism. This global award, presented annually to one journalist, is a joint collaboration between the Peter Mackler Award, Agence France-Presse (AFP), Reporters Without Borders, and the International Union of Journalists (IUJ) at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
A distinguished columnist, Asma Shirazi has contributed to BBC News Urdu, and her columns have been compiled into a book titled Kahani Baray Ghar Ki. She currently writes for Independent Urdu.
As Pakistan’s first female war correspondent, she has fearlessly covered conflict zones, demonstrating unwavering courage, professionalism, and dedication in the pursuit of truth—despite threats and personal risk.
