I will always remember the day that Michael Jackson died because it was the day before I retired from the NYC Board of Education after 31 years of teaching our children. I retired from my college career after the Spring of 2016, after teaching college for 14 years. One year at Touro College, One year at Fordham University and 12 years at the State University at New Paltz.
The road that brought me to my teaching career had its interesting twists and turns. I also spent time as an Interim Acting Assistant Principal, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and Director of Language and Cultural programs. During the last seven years of my education career, I returned to the classroom. I taught a different subject each year in KAPPA Middle School. These subjects included; Whole Life Management, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, even Music and Art.
As I look back, I have come to realize that nothing happens in our time…it happens in Divine Time. That’s why I know that all we have to do is “Keep On Keepin’ On,” because “It Ain’t Over ‘Til We Win!”
