Enchanting Gorilla family behaving like humans from the Big Daddy down to a toddler. A joy to watch.

Important - Tourism has saved these Gorillas.

Gorillas used to be hunted and poached by the locals. Tourism has brought money to the area and created a safe haven where the ex poachers are now paid to be game keepers and guides.

However they are wild animals and all visitors are accompanied and forced to be respectful and cause no harm.

Of course there is an argument to say leave them and the locals to nature. But this would endanger this rare species. Instead they are thriving.

This is Trek 2. "Gorilla Children - just like human Children".
Sit amongst the naughty playful Gorilla family whilst the children get up to all sorts of mischief.
An absolute joy to watch and fantastic to be amongst the gorilla family and their naughty children who want to play with us - especially towards the end where the youngster ran up and slapped us and the tiny baby was intent on learning to climb a tree.

Watch Trek 1. "He's gonna get a beating"
Towards the end a young male is caught mating with one of the family group whilst the alpha male takes a nap.
Then the Alpha Silverback walks right through our party to make sure we all know who is boss. Both exhilarating, scary and emotional.
