How to Make Easy, 10 Minute Fried Rice | Chinese Takeout at Home | WOK WITH JAN EP. 1

I know it’s just fried rice but it’s so sentimental to me! It reminds me of working at the family restaurant growing up.

In this episode of Wok with Jan, I’ll show you how my parent’s made fried rice at their Chinese takeout restaurant. This delicious recipe is savoury, filling, quick to cook and an easy dinner solution.

I’m sorry. My mom doesn’t measure things, so I don’t measure things. It’s just a feeling. It’s like making a potion. So, here are some approximations...

Ingredients:
🛒 cooking oil
🛒 3 cups of leftover, cooked Jasmine rice (1.5 cups uncooked)
🛒 1 medium cooking onion, diced
🛒 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
🛒 3/4 cup of frozen corn
🛒 3/4 cup of frozen peas and carrots
🛒 2 eggs, scrambled
🛒 black pepper, to taste
🛒 1 tbsp sesame oil
🛒 1 tbsp soy sauce
🛒 1 tsp dark soy sauce (optional, substitute with more regular soy sauce instead)
🛒 1/2 tsp chicken bouillon powder

1. Heat pan to medium/high heat, add cooking oil
2. Add eggs, scramble into small pieces (do not let it brown and overcook), put eggs aside
3. Adding more oil to the pan, toss in onions and garlic, cook until fragrant and slightly translucent
4. Add in leftover Jasmine rice, make sure to break up the clumps and mix with onions/garlic
5. Mix in soy sauce(s), sesame oil
6. Mix in frozen vegetables, black pepper, and chicken bouillon powder
7. Toss your fried rice until well combined, let it brown/fry a little, ~5 minutes
8. When you're rice is almost done, incorporate eggs back in
9. SERVE and enjoy! 😛 I love it with chili oil 🥵 or Sriracha 🌶
