Like many covers, I've had these lyrics in my back pocket for a while. Specifically, since March of last year. I wasn't sure back then when I would want to do something with them, as back then, news for Silksong was still an uncertain thing. Now, well, the time is obvious, isn't it?

Truly, it means a lot to me that Hollow Knight brought so many people to the work I do. It's played a huge role in how I've grown as a musician, and will always have a place in my heart. Nova, if you're reading this by the way, thank you so so much for introducing me to this game in the first place, I cannot thank you enough.

Also, of course, there were callbacks aplenty with these lyrics. I wanted to circle back to the idea I had with the main menu theme, where the three dreamers were singing most of the lyrics, and then, of course, incorporate the Hollow Knight itself. Radiance and vessel duet was just a concept that went crazy in the process. Plus a cheeky Hornet callback. This truly was just a lyrical culmination to fit with a musical culmination.
