The third Via Ferrata of the week we had a poor forecast. So we headed to the relative shelter of a gorge. As it turned out. It just rained for an hour in the morning and we had great weather.
The Ferrata Gorges de la Ailefroide starts from the roadside. Right by the small parking area.
The route is split into 3 parts. Firstly, easy stuff with some bridges. Ideal to take your kids!
Second part has more to get you warmed up with many high traverses over the water below.
The third section, where the gorge is at its narrowest, has a few more strenuous sections. Some slight overhangs.
