The new 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class celebrates its world première with extensive innovations at the Auto Shanghai. Among the highlights is an all-new and highly efficient engine range with a series of new technologies for electrification of the powertrain. Intelligent Drive takes another step towards autonomous driving. And the undisputed leader in the premium segment with regard to comfort and wellness sets new standards in the interior. The market launch of the new S-Class starts in the European markets in July.

Several new engines are planned for the new 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class: in-line six cylinders as diesel and petrol engines as well as a new V-8 biturbo petrol engine. In addition, Mercedes-Benz plans a plug-in hybrid with an electric range of about 50 kilometres. At the same time, ground-breaking technologies such as the 48-volt Integrated Starter Alternator and the electric booster compressor celebrate their world première.


The absolute flagship model from Mercedes-Maybach with face-to-face seating configuration behind the glass partition is now also available to order as a 2017 Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman Guard. As a result, heads of state and other individuals at particular risk have a highly exclusive vehicle at their disposal. The first customer vehicles will be delivered in the second half of 2017.

The 2017 Mercedes-Maybach S600 provides complete protection of protection class VR9 (in transparent and non-transparent areas) and is certified for blast resistance in accordance with Directive ERV 2010. Its protection concept is based on that of the Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard. The Pullman Guard has been designed and developed together with the non-special-protection Pullman and provides the same interior dimensions as the latter.
