[The Majulah Bashment Movement]

Calling out to the local dancehall community, if YOU are one of the few who have been soaking in the love of dancehall or simply believe in the power of #onelove, we are reaching out to you!

As part of this heartfelt movement by Dancehall Nation Singapore, and in collaboration with Singapura Dub Club, we are bringing to you the Dancehall event of the year - "Majulah Bashment', a movement that aims to bridge the gap between different cultures.

Happening between 3th and 5th March 2017, Majulah Bashment presents:

[2] 2v2 Dancehall Battle
[3] After Party

Guest choreographer, Blacka Di Danca is the name.
A renowned international choreographer in the dancehall scene, he is a FORCE to be reckoned with.

Having grown up with Dancehall, Reggae, Soca and Calypso music as well as having immersed himself in the genre from a young age, he is well versed in both the old scholl and new school grooves of dancehall.

Hailing all the way from Brooklyn, new York, his talent has led him to work with artistes such as Shaggy, Major Lazer and Rihanna, just to name a few. You can be sure that he'll be bringing dem fresh vibes to our local dance scene!

Teaching 2 master classes during the upcoming Majulah Bashment, he'll be sharing the history and techinques of this raw, passionate genre! more than that, we'll be able to learn a whole lot from his unique artistry, no doubt inspiring us o challenge ourselves and advance our craft as a community.

DANCEHALL BATTLE RULES & SEQUENCE
PART 1: SELECTION ROUND (45sec /group)
PART 2: BATTLE ROUNDS, QUARTER FINALS & SEMI FINALS (1 min/group x 2 rounds)
Each group has a maximum of 1 min per round for 2 rounds
Every dancer needs to present an individual freestyle for the battle
PART 3: FINALS (1 min/group x 4 round)
Each group has a maximum of 1 min per round for 4 rounds
Every dancer needs to present an individual freestyle for the battle
