Every week, I hear from truck drivers and fleet owners across Windsor–Essex who are deeply concerned about safety on our roads.
In this clip from the TRAN Committee, I shared messages from two of my constituents — one a retired trucker, another a second-generation fleet manager — both saying they’re scared to be on the road because of untrained drivers and the Driver Inc. loophole.
Their message is clear:
-Compliant trucking companies who pay fair wages, taxes, and benefits are being undercut.
The cost difference can be $45,000 per driver, giving unfair advantage to bad actors.
Minimal training on heavy rigs puts Canadian lives at risk.
This isn’t about politics — it’s about safety, fairness, and respect for the professional truckers who keep our economy moving.
It’s time for the government to close the loopholes and protect both our roads and our jobs.
