Nepal plunged into chaos as Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned following violent Gen Z-led protests that defied curfews and turned Kathmandu into a battleground. Demonstrators torched Oli’s residence, attacked homes of former leaders, and stormed government complexes in rage against corruption and a controversial social media blackout. Security forces opened fire, killing at least 19 and injuring hundreds, as the capital fell under indefinite lockdown. With India’s embassy issuing emergency alerts and the UN urging restraint, Nepal now faces its worst political crisis since 2015.
