psychowsky - Christine's Theme*

Well, I think I'm falling in love with the "new-retro" aka Retrowave sound more and more each day. Maybe it's because the sound builds on so many memories from my childhood and adolescence, maybe its because that lo-fi tape sensation reminds me of the days we used to record music from radio on boom-boxes... Who knows? Nevertheless my new vice its here to stay!

If you're not familiar with the genre, Retrowave takes inspiration from the electronic music from acts like Cyber People, International Music System, Peter Richard, Software to name just a few, styles from Space Disco and Funk to Italo Disco and Early Euro House, and then of course one big part of Retrowave originates from sound track music in the works of Tangerine Dream, Bradd Fidel and of course John Carpenter, whose soundtrack music is a chapter by itself...

"Christine's Theme" takes inspiration from John Carpenter's "Christine" masterpiece back in 1983, and in particular from the background music in the scene where Arnie finds his car trashed by the school bullies and swears revenge. However that's NOT the theme of the movie, and I had to conclude it by adding my own ending to the melody since that part was not apparent from the film.

Yes! Of course there's tape compression, distortion, wow & flutter! :)
