Reel on the fiddle. Although this is clearly in the Irish style, and extremely popular in the tradition, claims about the authorship vary. There is no doubt that Joe Cooley (1924 - 1973), an accordionist from Peterswell, County Galway, played it often. Therefore he is most likely the one responsible for its ubiquity today.
