Join our sailing family as we continue our journey around the world, embracing the raw beauty and real challenges of life at sea. This week, we cast off from Durban, South Africa before sunrise—only to be met by the Agulhas Current, delivering a rougher ride than we ever anticipated.

Our sailboat carries us into East London, where an unexpected and inspiring scene awaits: the Mini Globe Racers filling the harbor, each with their own story of grit and determination. While we wait for the right weather window to head south, boat life doesn’t slow down. Projects pile up, sails need repairing, and we lend a hand to help get the racers back on the water.

From wild ocean conditions to quiet moments in the marina, this family sailing vlog captures the highs, the hardships, and the unforgettable connections that make this journey so special. Adventure, teamwork, and life under sail—this is cruising as it really is.

We are a suburban blended family that has raised our 3 older children and now want to travel the world. After planning and saving for the past 6 years, we are now embracing our dream of sailing around the world on our Leopard 45 sailing catamaran. Follow our journey as we Circumnavigate the Globe in 3-4 years on a budget of $4,800/month (food, communication, fuel, insurance, transportation, mooring/marina & fun). We left the USA in October 2023 and plan to visit 26 countries on 5 different continents all while worldschooling a budding teen in our off grid tiny house.
