Welcome to Day 5 of my 1,400 kilometre walk along the Te Araroa Trail on the South Island of New Zealand.
Today’s an easy 15 kilometre hike from Smiths Farm Holiday Park in Linkwater to The Mussel Pot restaurant in Havelock.
Thankfully I walk along the Link Pathway which keeps me off the road for the majority of it. Then we enter a lovely bushland reserve which takes us up and down hills until we reach Havelock.
After meeting in Havelock, I stayed with new friends Jill and Steve who hiked the Te Araroa Trail (South Island) in the 2023/24 Season. In their gorgeous home I rested, worked & performed all the usual Zero Day jobs but youll see some of that in the next episode💁🏼♀️
