How To Open EXS24 Files In Ableton

⚡️ Ableton will open EXS24 files easily! There are a few limitations here...

-Ableton will not open up any audio effects associated with that instrument
-You must have the Ableton Device "Sampler". This is included in Suite, but can also be purchased separately

⚡️ EXS24 Instruments are by default located here:
Macintosh HD: Library ➡ Application Support ➡ Logic ➡ Sampler ➡ Sampler Instruments
❗Could also be in the Mainstage or GarageBand folder depending on the order you installed these programs❗

⚡️ By dragging your instrument files directly onto Ableton's UI, It will start importing the instrument.

⚡️ It will then prompt you to locate the actual audio files that make up the sampler instrument. These files can be found using the path:
Macintosh HD: Library ➡ Application Support ➡ Logic ➡ Sampler ➡ Sampler Files ➡ (Instrument Title)

⚡️ Once you locate this file, your new Sampler instrument will be loaded into Ableton's user library. You can then, drag and drop this instrument onto a Midi track and it will play as expected.

❗Some EXS24 instruments use audio effects located on the channel strip, if that is the case, you will need to recreate those effects using Ableton devices.
