This pair-bonding (the second today...the still comes from the first) lasts a decent period, about eight minutes and includes some staring, bowing, whining (Diamond), dancing (tip-toeing is the official term) by Gimbir and yes, a bit of faux aggression as is usual in this ritual.
Sometimes he gets distracted and looks into the corner where Diamond left a large great crested grebe last night (but has since removed). He's been tempted, but has not given in.
Gimbir's sub-adult status is almost at an end as he moults into his full adult plumage.
