Daughter of the Dragon is Anna May Wong's first sound film which is also preserved at the UCLA Film & Television Archive.

"The Los Angeles-born Wong brings her characteristic natural grace to a stereotyped role, and Hayakawa, scion of a samurai family, adds subtlety and gravity to a mainly reactive character. Frustrated by the lack of career opportunities, both performers soon left the US for Europe. Wong would say later, 'I get so weary of it all--the scenarist's concept of Chinese characters.'" --Program notes by Cheng-Sim Lim.
