The Rembrandt House Museum (Museum Het Rembrandthuis) in Amsterdam is the former residence and studio of the renowned Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn. He lived and worked here from 1639 to 1658, during the height of his career. The house, built in 1606 and renovated in 1627, was purchased by Rembrandt for 13,000 guilders. Following his bankruptcy, it was auctioned in 1658. Restored in the early 20th century, the museum opened in 1911.
Visitors can explore meticulously reconstructed rooms, including Rembrandt’s studio and living quarters, based on a 1656 inventory. The museum houses an extensive collection of Rembrandt's etchings, original copper plates, and works by his teacher Pieter Lastman.
