Closing Bell: BSE Midcap index added 0.7% and smallcap index rose 0.5%. SBI Life Insurance, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries, SBI, Eternal were among top gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Bharat Electronics, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Infosys, Adani Ports, Bajaj Finance.
