You wake up on the ice cold stone floor and wince at the sight of blood on the exterior of the barrel that is positioned up against the wall on the other side of the room. A quick breath enters your lungs, carrying the sting of the arid and dusty air. The only warmth you feel is coming from the candles to your right -- but they are not warm enough to rid you of the freezing cold. As you begin to wonder why -- despite being chilled to the bone -- you do not shiver, you start to wonder: "Wait, how did I even end up here?"

You try to think back, but the last thing you remember is taking a rest at a mundane and typical inn. It was just a few minutes's ride off of your path through Romania as you traveled back to your native homeland of Hungary. You remember sitting down to take a good night's rest, worn by a full day's travel on horseback. The door refused to lock, which you found peculiar, but, once you think beyond the moment where you check the lock, the memory stops. A few brief flashes of fear and struggle appear in this void of solid memory, but they are fleeting and you can't remember anything about the content of this scuffle.

"I've got it! I was kidnapped and will be held for ransom! My grandparents are nobility in Budapest! I can't remember speaking about this at the inn, but I must have let this slip to the wrong person. There must be a way out of here..." You plot your escape, but you almost feel too drained to come up with any reasonable plan. You sit down on the bench up against the wall and continue to ponder your getaway plan, only kept company by blood-stained furniture.
