The last piece of the first half of this concert. I have played this well known work by Albeniz since the early 1970's but when I embarked on this project I hoped for a new approach and to stay more accurate to the piano score, both with notes and interpretation. It has been used for years as a proxy for flamenco by classical guitarists. To demonstrate one small aspect--the last few bars are often properly performed by pianists with a decrescendo and final pianissimo. Albeniz was known for his soft playing.
