Hey! Welcome to a new video, from the Italian Dolomites!

Today I'm taking you to Bivacco dei Mascabroni, a truly epic place hidden in Sexten Dolomites. It takes many hours of hiking (6h) and quite some technical scrambling to reach this place.

the history of this cabin is very unique. Back in 1915 the italian troups built a military post in this place, to assault the enemy on the other side of the mountain (Cima Undici - Elferkofel). It was winter, and it took weeks of hard snow to reach this spot. the soldiers, called "i Mascabroni" spent two months there, in full winter, planning the assault.
In the 60s this cabin was built in memory of these soldiers, so we can explore and admire these incredible mountains in peace.
