In 2024, Canada was the top destination for US exports while the United States was Canada’s largest export market. But tariffs entered into the picture. Now Canadian consumers are quickly changing their habits. Canadian companies are diversifying trade while retailers look for alternatives to American made products. Mike Kirsch visited Vancouver –home of Canada’s largest port- to report on the “Buy Canadian” movement. As consumers prioritize local products, they also purchase goods coming from countries like Mexico and China.
