Initially a drummer, he discovered his true passion in the Sorna and honed his skills under the guidance of the renowned Sorna player, Shri Ali Mohammad. Mr. Sangdup passionately emphasizes the cultural significance of folk music and traditional instruments in Ladakh, despite the challenges stemming from social stigma. However, there's a shift on the horizon, with more young talents embracing this art. He's on a mission to preserve this heritage by providing free coaching and sends a clear message: let's preserve the originality of Ladakhi folk music and inspire the next generation.
