SMYAL Reads "47,000 Beads" for HRC's National Day of Reading

Come along with us as we read "47,000 Beads" by Angel Adeyoha and Koja Adeyoha for HRC's National Day of Reading!

"47,000 Beads" tells the story of Peyton, a two-spirit Indigenous member of the Lakota tribe. Peyton loves to dance, and especially at Pow Wow, but her Auntie notices that she’s been dancing less and less. When Peyton shares that she isn't comfortable wearing a dress anymore, Auntie Eyota asks some friends for help to get Peyton what she needs.
