The Cleveland Browns may have taken a loss Sunday afternoon, but Browns fans everywhere got a big win. Browns legend Bernie Kosar confirmed to 3News Sunday evening that he will receive a liver transplant on Monday morning.
He said his surgery was scheduled to begin at 5 a.m.
Kosar celebrated getting the "good call" with his University Hospitals nurses in a video shared to social media.
Then, shortly before 8 a.m. Monday, a new video was shared to his social media, which was recorded hours earlier as Kosar was preparing to have his transplant.
"It may not be a victory Monday on the football field, but here we are at 4:23 in the morning at University Hospitals," Kosar said in the video, which you can watch below. "It’s absolutely a victory Monday for me, so looking forward to really, literally heading on down right now to get that liver transplant. You know, as you get ready for something monumental and transformative like this in your life, you can’t help but be a little reflective. As I go down here today I think about all the awesome, awesome support from the fans out there, my amazing, children and family.”
