Amory presents an analogy that belief in God is like belief in germ theory before microorganisms were discovered. The host counters that pre-evidence germ theory believers would be coincidentally right but unjustified. Amory acknowledges his God belief lacks sufficient warrant.

When asked why he believes his particular God concept over alternatives, Amory evades answering whether he believes in other gods like Ra or Ganesha. Despite repeated attempts, the host fails to get a direct yes/no response, growing increasingly frustrated at Amory's evasiveness and ending the call.
