Why Monkey King is Actually a Midlaner in Dota 2

For the longest time in this meta, the most popular midlaners were heroes with strong ganking powers: Puck, Queen of Pain, Storm Spirit but now we have a new hero in the mix that is the best midlaner of 2025: Monkey King. Monkey King is the best of both worlds: he roams and ganks just like a Pos 4 Support but he also can carry late-game like a Pos 1 Carry. Monkey King's capabilities to win his lane and secure last-hits makes him an incredible easy hero to secure last-hits in the lane to then gank with his Simian Stride Tree Dance ability to gank side-lanes quickly without wasting much time and gold. In this video, Torte de Lini will outline what makes Monkey King so viable and what items makes him so powerful into the late-game. He is about farming hero kills to then farming creeps as he transitions, just like popular heroes like Riki, Tiny and Phantom Lancer.
